The Latzin/Müller lab is the “wet lab” part of the pediatric pneumology research group at the University Children’s Hospital, Inselspital Bern. While the more clinical/epidemiological part of the group focuses on the development of new lung function techniques and non-invasive markers of airway inflammation, the “wet lab” works on the improvement of the diagnostics for primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD), the understanding of disease mechanisms of PCD and the effects of treatments, the impact of air pollution on the innate respiratory immunity and the role of the innate epithelial immunity in viral infections and the effects of different treatments.
