The University of Bern has asked us to upgrade all devices with Windows 10 to the newest Windows version (Windows 11). For that please get in contact with the IT DBMR Support Request Form Form on the DBMR-Homepage or in the signature below. 

Important: Back Up Your Data

We strongly recommend backing up your data before upgrading. You can use OneDrive for your personal Office files. For larger research data, we recommend using the Campus Storage or Research Storage provided by your research group. Alternatively, you may use external hard drives or Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions, such as Synology or similar systems, for local backups.

  • The installation of Windows 11 will delete all programs and apps on your device.
  • The installation process takes at least one working day to complete.
